Dr. Robert Andrew Dunn (a.k.a. Doc Dunn) is an associate professor in the Department of Media and Communication at East Tennessee State University and serves as journalism program head. He teaches classes in multimedia production, mass media and society, communication law, and reporting. His research focuses on virtual/online identity, media psychology, and communication technology.
Academically, Dunn holds a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree in mass communication from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Auburn University Montgomery.
Professionally, Dunn worked in newspapers for nearly a decade. He primarily served as an education reporter and occasional legislative reporter for both the Tallahasee Democrat and The Ledger in Lakeland, Florida. He has also served an instructor for Florida Southern College and the University of Alabama.
